Hot Honey Pizza
Sweet heat on a crisp, blistered crust — hot honey and pepperoni is the pairing pizza night has been waiting for. A generous drizzle of Honey One Hot Honey right at the end makes every slice sing.
Ingredients
- 500g strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
- 7g sachet fast-action dried yeast
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 325ml warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for the bowl
- 200g passata
- 250g mozzarella, drained and torn
- 100g pepperoni slices
- 3 tbsp Honey One Hot Honey
- A handful of basil leaves
Method
- Mix the flour, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Add the warm water and olive oil and bring together into a soft dough.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic, then place in an oiled bowl, cover and prove for 1–1½ hours, until doubled in size.
- Heat the oven to its highest setting, ideally 240°C fan / 260°C conventional, with a heavy baking tray or pizza stone inside.
- Divide the dough in two and stretch each piece on a floured surface into a rough 30cm round.
- Spread each base with passata, leaving a border, then top with mozzarella and pepperoni.
- Bake one at a time on the hot tray for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is puffed and blistered and the cheese is bubbling.
- Drizzle generously with Hot Honey, scatter over the basil and serve immediately.
