Honey
Thick toasted sourdough spread with melting butter and creamy set honey

Sometimes the simplest things are the best: thick-cut sourdough, good salted butter and a generous layer of Honey One Set Honey, its creamy, finely crystallised texture melting slowly into the warm crumb.

Serves 1 · Preparation: 2 minutes · Cooking: 3 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 thick slice of sourdough bread
  • 15g salted butter, softened
  • 1 heaped tbsp Honey One Set Honey
  • A tiny pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)

Method

  1. Toast the sourdough until deeply golden and crisp at the edges.
  2. Spread immediately with the softened butter, right to the corners, so it melts into the crumb.
  3. Spoon over the Set Honey and spread gently — it will soften and turn glossy on the warm toast.
  4. Finish with the tiniest pinch of flaky sea salt if you like, and eat while warm.

Serving suggestion

Perfect with a pot of tea for a slow morning, or as an afternoon pick-me-up.
